CA Foundation is the entry-level examination of the Chartered Accountancy (CA) course conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). It is the first of three levels — Foundation, Intermediate and Final — that a student must clear to become a Chartered Accountant. The exam consists of four papers covering Accounting, Business Laws, Quantitative Aptitude and Business Economics. It is conducted three times a year (January, May and September sessions). Passing CA Foundation is mandatory to progress to the CA Intermediate level.
