The IBPS SO IT Officer application process for CRP SPL-XVI is conducted entirely online through ibps.in. Apply within the first week of the window opening. The IBPS portal experiences server load near the deadline due to simultaneous applications across all SO posts. Early application also allows time to fix any issues with photograph rejection or fee processing.

After selecting the post (IT Officer), candidates indicate their bank preferences. The bank preference ranking determines which bank you are allotted to if selected.
Provisional allotment is made considering the candidates' merit position and their preference order for banks. Candidates who rank higher in the final merit list get their earlier bank preferences fulfilled first.

Save the transaction ID, e-receipt, and application confirmation page. These are proof of completed application.

Post selection (IT Officer vs other posts) is typically non-correctable after submission. This is the most critical field to verify before submitting.
If CRP SPL-XVI mandates work experience (typically 1 year in IT), the experience certificate must be on employer letterhead and include:

Certificates without these elements are rejected at document verification.
Selecting the wrong post: This is the most consequential mistake. Once submitted, post selection cannot be changed after the correction window. Verify you are selecting "IT Officer Scale I" before paying the fee.
Non-IT degree: Candidates with B.Com, B.A., or B.Sc. (non-CS/IT) degrees cannot qualify for IT Officer. Do not apply if your degree does not match the qualification.
Block-letter signature: IBPS explicitly requires a cursive personal signature. Block or printed capital-letter signatures are rejected.
Not declaring experience: If experience is mandatory, failing to declare it (or providing insufficient evidence at DV) leads to disqualification.
Applying near the deadline: Server overload near the closing date has caused payment failures and missed submissions in previous cycles. Apply by the end of the first week of the application window.
Wrong exam city selection: Exam city is printed on the admit card and typically cannot be changed. Select a city you can travel to comfortably on August 29, 2026.

Can I apply for both IT Officer and Marketing Officer in the same IBPS SO cycle? No. Candidates can apply for only one post per IBPS SO cycle. Once you select IT Officer Scale I, you cannot simultaneously apply for any other post in CRP SPL-XVI.
