The LIC AAO result is released in three sequential stages corresponding to the Preliminary Examination, the Main Examination, and the Final Result after the interview. Each stage result determines who advances to the next. Understanding when each result is released, exactly how to access it on licindia.in, what the scorecard contains, and what immediate actions must follow is essential for every LIC AAO aspirant.
A key feature of LIC AAO results that candidates appreciate: scorecards are released for all candidates who appeared in Prelims and Mains, not just those who qualified. This means every candidate can see their actual marks and compare against the zone-wise cutoff, enabling precise performance analysis for the next cycle.
This page covers the complete result process for LIC AAO 2026 with confirmed dates from the 2025 cycle, step-by-step instructions, what the scorecard contains, the interview shortlisting process, medical examination, and the full joining sequence.
For the complete examination guide, visit the LIC AAO main page. For zone-wise cutoff marks, see the LIC AAO Cutoff page.

Based on this pattern, the expected 2026 result timeline is:
The Mains result gap of approximately 88 days in 2025 is notably longer than banking exam equivalents (IBPS/SBI Mains results come in 3 to 6 weeks). Candidates should plan for this longer waiting period and use the time productively - interview preparation for those who cleared Mains, and next cycle preparation for those who did not.
The Prelims result confirms whether you have been shortlisted for the Mains examination. LIC shortlists approximately 15 to 20 times the total vacancies from each zone and category from the Prelims.
The 2025 Prelims result was released on 29th October 2025 - approximately 26 days after the last Prelims date of 7th October 2025.
The Prelims result comes with a Prelims Scorecard showing:
Prelims marks are never counted in the final merit. The scorecard serves only as a reference for performance analysis.

If not shortlisted:
The Mains result is the most consequential result in the LIC AAO cycle. It determines who is shortlisted for the Interview. Candidates who clear both the section-wise minimum marks and the overall zone-wise Mains cutoff AND have also cleared the Descriptive Test qualifying mark are shortlisted.
The 2025 Mains result for AAO Generalist was released on 4th February 2026 - approximately 88 days after the Mains on 8th November 2025.
The Mains result comes in two forms:
Method 1 - Shortlist PDF:
Method 2 - Scorecard Login:
The LIC AAO Mains Scorecard shows:
| Field Detail | |
| Candidate Name | As registered |
| Registration Number | Application identifier |

The Mains scorecard is available for all candidates who appeared in the Mains - whether shortlisted for interview or not. This transparency allows every candidate to precisely understand their performance gap.
Unlike IBPS (3 to 4 weeks for Mains result) or SBI (4 to 6 weeks), LIC's Mains result took approximately 88 days in 2025. This longer gap reflects:
Candidates should plan for this waiting period. Those who cleared Prelims should use the 3-month post-Mains window to prepare for the interview comprehensively. See the LIC AAO Interview page for the complete interview preparation guide.
If shortlisted for Interview:
If not shortlisted:
The Final Result is the definitive outcome of the entire recruitment cycle. It lists candidates who are provisionally selected for appointment as Assistant Administrative Officers at LIC.
The 2025 Final Result was released on 9th April 2026 - approximately 2 months after the Mains result on 4th February 2026.
The Final Result is published as:
The final selection merit is based on combining the Mains Objective Test marks and the Interview marks. The exact weightage is specified in each notification (approximately 70-80% Mains, 20-30% Interview for recent cycles).
Example calculation (illustrative):
Assuming Mains is 75% weight and Interview is 25% weight:
A candidate who scored 215 in Mains (out of 300) and 68 in Interview (out of 100):
Final selection is based on ranking within this combined score, within each zone and category.
Additionally, log in with your credentials for the individual combined scorecard showing Mains + Interview breakdown.
Provisionally selected candidates go through the following sequence before receiving their appointment letters:
LIC conducts a comprehensive medical examination at LIC-empanelled hospitals. The examination covers:
Candidates with known medical conditions (especially vision defects beyond certain thresholds, colour blindness, hypertension, or diabetes) should consult a physician before investing in examination preparation, as these may affect medical clearance. LIC's medical standards are specified in the notification - read these carefully.
Failing the medical examination results in cancellation of provisional selection. There is no re-examination provision under normal circumstances.
Report to LIC's designated centre with original certificates:
The 55% graduation aggregate is verified here. Candidates who applied with a calculated percentage that does not match their mark sheets face cancellation. Ensure the percentage entered in the application accurately reflects the aggregate across all years/semesters.
After clearing document verification and medical examination, candidates receive formal appointment letters. They join LIC as Assistant Administrative Officers on a probationary basis.
Probation period: 1 year. During probation, the officer receives the full AAO salary. Confirmation is based on satisfactory performance and completion of any specified training assessments.
Training: LIC conducts induction training at its training centres (LIC has training centres in Mumbai, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Kolkata, and other cities). The training covers insurance products, LIC's internal systems, regulatory compliance, and branch operations.
Posting: Based on zonal vacancy requirements within the zone the candidate applied for. Candidates cannot choose their specific city or branch at joining.
LIC does not consistently release a formal reserve or waitlist after the main Final Result. However, in some cycles, vacancies that become available due to selected candidates declining appointment or failing medical examination may be filled from candidates who scored just below the final cutoff.
Monitor licindia.in after the Final Result for any announcements about additional allotments. There is no separate application needed for such additional rounds.
For candidates who were not selected, the Mains scorecard provides the most valuable diagnostic data available:
Analyse section-wise performance:
Calculate the gap to the zone cutoff: If the gap is 10 to 20 marks in the final combined score, identifying and fixing one weak section (typically Insurance Awareness) is often sufficient for qualification in the next cycle.
