The RRB NTPC result is published separately for each stage of the selection process by each regional Railway Recruitment Board zone. Unlike centralised exams like SSC or IBPS, there is no single national result link. Candidates must check the result on the official website of the RRB zone they applied to. For the 2026 cycle, the Graduate-level CBT 1 result (CEN 06/2025) is expected in May to June 2026 after the exam concluded on March 27, 2026. The Undergraduate-level CBT 1 result (CEN 07/2025) is expected in July to August 2026 after the exam concludes on June 21, 2026.
This page covers the expected result dates, official 2025 result timeline as reference, how to check the result and download the scorecard, how normalisation works, what the shortlisting ratio means, how to read the cutoff PDF, and what candidates must do immediately after the result is declared.

The gap between the last CBT 1 exam date and result declaration was approximately 87 days for the Graduate 2025 cycle. Applying this benchmark to the 2026 Graduate cycle (last exam March 27, 2026) places the result in late June 2026.
The result is published as a PDF document on each regional RRB website. It does not show individual marks. It contains:
| Component Details | |
| List of Shortlisted Roll Numbers | All candidates cleared for CBT 2, listed zone-wise and post-wise |
| Zone-wise Cutoff Marks | Minimum normalised marks required per category per zone |
| Total Candidates Shortlisted | Total number of candidates advancing to CBT 2 |
| Category-wise Breakdown | SC/ST/OBC/UR/EWS/PwBD shortlisted counts |
| Instructions for CBT 2 | Notification timeline and exam details |
To find your individual normalised marks and section-wise scores, you must download the Scorecard separately after it is released.
The result is hosted on regional RRB websites, not a single central portal. Follow these steps:
| Step Action | |
| 1 | Visit the official website of the RRB zone you applied to |
| 2 | Look for "Result" or "Notices" section on the homepage |
| 3 | Click on "CEN 06/2025 CBT 1 Result" (Graduate) or "CEN 07/2025 CBT 1 Result" (UG) |
| 4 | The result PDF downloads or opens in the browser |
| 5 | Use Ctrl+F (keyboard shortcut) and type your Roll Number to search |
| 6 | If your Roll Number appears in the PDF, you are shortlisted for CBT 2 |
| 7 | If your Roll Number does not appear, you have not cleared the cutoff |
The result PDF can be hundreds of pages long because it lists all shortlisted candidates across all categories and posts. The keyboard search (Ctrl+F) is the fastest way to check your status.
The Scorecard is an individual document showing your normalised section-wise marks and total marks. It is released separately from the result PDF, typically 7 to 14 days after the result.
| Step Action | |
| 1 | Visit the official regional RRB website |
| 2 | Click on "Score Card" link for the relevant CEN and CBT stage |
| 3 | Enter your Registration Number and Password or Date of Birth |
| 4 | Enter the captcha and log in |
| 5 | The scorecard PDF opens on screen |
| 6 | Download and save immediately; the link has a limited active period |
The scorecard download link is active for only a few weeks. Once deactivated, there is no way to retrieve the scorecard. Candidates must download it within the active window.

The RRB NTPC CBT 1 is conducted in multiple shifts across many days. Each shift has a potentially different difficulty level. To ensure fairness, RRB applies normalisation using the T-Score method, which adjusts scores based on the mean and standard deviation of performance within each shift.
| Step Process | |
| 1 | For each shift, calculate the mean and standard deviation of all candidates' raw scores |
| 2 | Convert each candidate's raw score to a T-Score using: T = 50 + 10 x (raw score - mean) / standard deviation |
| 3 | This T-Score is the normalised score used for cutoff comparison |
| 4 | Candidates in harder shifts (lower mean, higher SD) get upward normalisation |
| 5 | Candidates in easier shifts may see modest downward adjustment |
A candidate who scored 75 raw marks in a difficult shift (mean: 62, SD: 12) would receive a T-Score of approximately 60.8. The same 75 raw marks in an easy shift (mean: 70, SD: 8) would receive a T-Score of approximately 56.3. Both candidates scored the same raw marks but have different normalised scores because of shift difficulty.
This is why targeting a score significantly above the expected cutoff is important. If your target zone's cutoff is approximately 83, targeting a raw score of 90 provides a buffer against the downward normalisation risk in easier shifts.
RRB shortlists candidates for CBT 2 in a fixed ratio per post per category. The standard ratio is 20 times the number of vacancies for each post group.
| Post Group Vacancies (UG) Approximate Shortlisted for CBT 2 | ||
| Commercial cum Ticket Clerk (Level 3) | 608 | 12,160 |
| Junior Clerk cum Typist (Level 2) | 990 | 19,800 |
| Accounts Clerk cum Typist (Level 2) | 361 | 7,220 |
| Trains Clerk (Level 2) | 1,099 | 21,980 |
| Total UG | 3,058 | 61,160 |
With 63.27 lakh registered UG candidates and approximately 61,160 shortlisted for CBT 2, roughly 1 in 103 registered candidates advances past CBT 1. This is the competitive intensity that makes a high CBT 1 score essential.
The CBT 2 result is the merit-determining result for the final selection. Unlike CBT 1, which is qualifying, CBT 2 marks determine who gets selected and which post they are allotted.
| Event Date | |
| CBT 2 Exam | October 13, 2025 |
| CBT 2 Result Released | December 15, 2025 |
| Final Cut Off and DV Shortlist | May 7, 2026 |
The final merit for Graduate posts takes into account the CBT 2 normalised scores for each post individually. Post-wise merit lists are prepared separately because different posts attract different performance distributions.
After CBT 2, candidates are shortlisted for Document Verification. The shortlisting ratio for DV is typically 3 to 5 times the number of vacancies, depending on the post. For posts requiring CBAT (Station Master) or TST (typing posts), the CBAT/TST happens between CBT 2 and DV.
Before the final result, RRB releases a provisional answer key. The 2026 Graduate CBT 1 provisional answer key was released on April 6, 2026, with the objection window from April 6 to 12, 2026.
| Step Action | |
| 1 | Log in to your regional RRB candidate portal with Registration Number and Password |
| 2 | Navigate to the Answer Key section for CEN 06/2025 or CEN 07/2025 |
| 3 | Review each question's provisional answer against your attempted answer |
| 4 | For questions you believe have an incorrect answer, click "Raise Objection" |
| 5 | Submit supporting evidence (textbook reference, page number, source) |
| 6 | Pay the objection fee if specified |
Accepted objections result in correction of the answer key. All candidates who attempted the question benefit if the answer is revised. Rejected objections result in forfeiture of the objection fee.
The gap between CBT 1 result and CBT 2 exam is typically 2 to 4 months based on the 2025 cycle (CBT 1 result September 19, 2025; CBT 2 October 13, 2025: a gap of only 24 days for the Graduate level). This extremely short gap in 2025 means candidates must not wait for the CBT 1 result to begin CBT 2 preparation.
| Action Timeline | |
| Begin CBT 2 preparation | Immediately after CBT 1 exam, do not wait for result |
| Download CBT 1 scorecard | Within the active window after scorecard release |
| Monitor CBT 2 notification | Check your regional RRB website after CBT 1 result |
| Download CBT 2 admit card | 4 days before CBT 2 exam |
CBT 2 has more questions (120 vs 100) in the same duration (90 minutes) and tests the same subjects at a higher difficulty. The Mathematics section in CBT 2 includes more complex Algebra, Geometry, and Data Interpretation. The GA section in CBT 2 includes deeper current affairs and more historical facts. Building CBT 1 fundamentals properly is the strongest preparation foundation for CBT 2.
| Action Recommendation | |
| Download CBT 1 scorecard | Identify which section pulled the score below cutoff |
| Analyse your raw score vs cutoff | Determine the gap and the specific topics responsible |
| Begin preparation for the next cycle | The next RRB NTPC notification is expected in late 2026 or early 2027 |
| Use the test series for targeted improvement | The RRB NTPC Tier 1 Test Series allows focused topic-wise, subject-wise, and full mock practice for systematic improvement |
| Strengthen General Awareness | GA is the section with the highest score differential; improving it by even 5 marks can move a borderline candidate comfortably above the cutoff |
| Method Details | |

Do not rely on third-party coaching websites for result notifications. While they often publish news quickly, the only definitive source is the official regional RRB website. The result PDF can only be accessed through the official portal.
When will the RRB NTPC Graduate CBT 1 2026 result be declared? Based on the 2025 precedent (87 days from last exam date to result), the Graduate CBT 1 result is expected in May to June 2026. The exam concluded March 27, 2026.
When will the RRB NTPC UG CBT 1 2026 result be declared? The UG exam runs from May 7 to June 21, 2026. Applying the 87-day benchmark, the result is expected in September to October 2026.
How do I know if I am shortlisted for CBT 2? Your Roll Number will appear in the CBT 1 result PDF on your regional RRB website. Use Ctrl+F to search for your Roll Number quickly.
Is CBT 1 score visible on the scorecard? Yes. The scorecard released after the result shows your normalised section-wise scores and total normalised score.
Does my CBT 1 score affect CBT 2 eligibility or merit? CBT 1 is purely qualifying. Clearing the CBT 1 cutoff gives full eligibility to appear in CBT 2. There is no advantage from a high CBT 1 score vs a borderline pass; both give identical CBT 2 eligibility.
