BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre) OCES/DGFS is a prestigious recruitment programme under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. It recruits brilliant engineering graduates as Scientific Officers (Group A Gazetted) through two streams: OCES (Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates) — a 1-year residential training at BARC, Mumbai/Hyderabad, leading to Scientific Officer 'C' (Level-10); and DGFS (DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme) — a 2-year fully funded M.Tech at IIT Bombay or IIT Madras followed by a 4-month OCDF training. Screening is done via BARC Online CBT (Computer-Based Test) and/or valid GATE CS score (2024/2025/2026). Final selection is based entirely on a Personal Interview held in Mumbai. The CSE discipline code is CS-26. BARC is India's premier nuclear research facility and offers one of the most respected scientific careers in the country.
GATE CE (Civil Engineering) is one of the most popular and high-participation GATE papers in India. Conducted by IITs and IISc on a rotational basis, it evaluates undergraduate-level knowledge across core civil engineering disciplines. A qualifying GATE CE score enables admission to M.Tech/M.S./Ph.D. programs at IITs, IISc, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs, and is widely used for PSU recruitment in organizations like ONGC, NTPC, NHAI, AAI, GAIL, BEL, and various state PWDs.
GATE EC (Electronics and Communication Engineering) is one of the most competitive and widely-attempted GATE papers in India. Conducted by IITs and IISc on a rotational basis, it evaluates undergraduate-level knowledge across core ECE disciplines including Networks, Signals & Systems, Electronic Devices, Analog Circuits, Digital Circuits, Control Systems, Communications, and Electromagnetics. A qualifying GATE EC score enables admission to M.Tech/M.S./Ph.D. programs at IITs, IISc, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs, and is widely accepted for PSU recruitment in organizations like ISRO, DRDO, BARC, BEL, BSNL, ECIL, HPCL, NPCIL, HAL, and Intel/semiconductor companies.
GATE ME (Mechanical Engineering) is one of the largest and most competitive GATE papers in India, with hundreds of thousands of candidates appearing annually. Conducted by IITs and IISc on a rotational basis, it evaluates undergraduate-level knowledge across four major sections: Engineering Mathematics, Applied Mechanics & Design, Fluid Mechanics & Thermal Sciences, and Materials, Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering. A qualifying GATE ME score enables admission to M.Tech/M.S./Ph.D. programs at IITs, IISc, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs, and is widely accepted for PSU recruitment in organizations like BHEL, ONGC, NTPC, GAIL, HAL, BARC, DRDO, and ISRO.
GATE PI (Production and Industrial Engineering) is a specialized GATE paper that covers the full spectrum of manufacturing, production, and industrial engineering disciplines. Conducted by IITs and IISc on a rotational basis, it evaluates candidates on Engineering Mathematics, General Engineering, Manufacturing Processes, Quality & Reliability, Industrial Engineering, and Operations Research. A qualifying GATE PI score enables admission to M.Tech/M.S./Ph.D. programs at IITs, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs specializing in manufacturing, industrial engineering, and production technology, and is accepted for PSU recruitment in organizations like BHEL, HAL, SAIL, GAIL, BEL, NTPC, and DRDO. Candidates can also appear for GATE PI along with ME, MT, or XE as a second paper.
IBPS SO IT Officer (Scale I) Mains Examination is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) for candidates who qualify the Prelims. The Mains is a single-section Professional Knowledge paper that tests deep IT domain expertise across networking, databases, OS, programming, software engineering, security, web technologies, and emerging technologies. Mains score (80%) combined with Interview score (20%) determines final selection.
IBPS SO IT Officer (Scale I) Preliminary Examination is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) to recruit IT Specialist Officers for public sector banks across India.
