The SSC MTS Result is the announcement through which the Staff Selection Commission declares which candidates have cleared the Computer-Based Examination and are shortlisted for either Document Verification (MTS posts) or Physical Efficiency Test/Physical Standard Test (Havaldar posts). The result is published as a PDF on ssc.gov.in, releasing separate lists for MTS and Havaldar posts along with the official category-wise and state-wise cutoff marks.
The SSC MTS 2026 exam has two active cycles currently. The 2025-26 cycle CBE was conducted from February 4 to 20, 2026, and the result is expected in April to June 2026. The 2026-27 cycle CBE is scheduled for September to November 2026, with results expected in January to March 2027.
This page covers the complete result process for both cycles, official timeline reference from the 2025-26 exam, the critical fact that merit is based on Session 2 only, how to check and download the result PDF and scorecard, Havaldar PET shortlisting, and a complete action plan after the result.
| Cycle CBE Dates Result Expected | ||
| 2025-26 (exam February 2026) | February 4 to 20, 2026 | April to June 2026 |
| 2026-27 (exam Sep-Nov 2026) | September to November 2026 | January to March 2027 |
| Event Date | |
| Notification Released | June 26, 2025 |
| Application Window | June 26 to July 24, 2025 |
| Total Vacancies | 7,948 (6,810 MTS + 1,138 Havaldar) |
| CBE Conducted | February 4 to 20, 2026 |
| Provisional Answer Key | March 3, 2026 |
| Objection Window | March 3 to 6, 2026 |
| Final Answer Key | Expected March to April 2026 |
| CBE Result Expected | April to June 2026 |
| Havaldar PET/PST | After CBE result (expected July to September 2026) |
| Document Verification | After PET (Havaldar) or after CBE result (MTS) |
The gap between the last exam date (February 20, 2026) and the expected result (April to June 2026) is approximately 2 to 4 months. This accounts for finalising the answer key after objections, conducting normalisation across shifts, and preparing the state-wise merit lists.
The final merit list for MTS posts is prepared based on marks obtained by candidates in Session 2 only (General Awareness + English Language and Comprehension, maximum 150 marks). Session 1 (Numerical Ability + Reasoning, maximum 120 marks) is qualifying only.
This has major implications for how to interpret the result:
| Component Role Maximum Marks | ||
| Session 1 | Qualifying only (30% min for UR, 25% OBC, 20% others) | 120 |
| Session 2 | Merit-determining (100% weightage) | 150 |
When SSC releases the result, the cutoff marks published are Session 2 normalised marks (out of 150). A candidate who scored 110 in Session 2 and 95 in Session 1 would have a competitive Session 2 score, whereas a candidate who scored 130 in Session 1 but only 70 in Session 2 would not be shortlisted despite a higher combined total.
When checking your scorecard, look at your Session 2 score and compare it to the state-wise Session 2 cutoff for your category and age group. That is what determines whether you qualify.
SSC releases the MTS result in multiple separate PDFs based on posts and categories.

SSC MTS CBE is conducted in multiple shifts over multiple days. SSC applies normalisation to account for difficulty variation between shifts.
SSC MTS normalisation works by mapping each shift's score distribution to a common scale. Candidates in harder shifts receive upward adjustment; those in easier shifts may see slight downward adjustment. The key points:
The SSC MTS CBE cut-off is released State/UT-wise and category-wise. SSC MTS cut-off is released separately for each age group (18-25 and 18-27).
This means a single national cutoff number does not exist. The cutoff for Delhi (high competition) may be 115 in Session 2 for UR (18-25), while the cutoff for a northeast state may be 88 for the same category. Both are official cutoffs for their respective states.
When checking whether you qualified, compare your Session 2 normalised score against the cutoff for:
For complete cutoff data, visit the SSC MTS Cutoff page.
Candidates shortlisted for Havaldar posts must additionally qualify the PET and PST before Document Verification.
The shortlisting for Havaldar PET is based on CBE performance. Typically, more candidates than the vacancy count are called for PET, and those who pass PET proceed to PST and then DV.
| Stage Detail | |
| CBE (merit-determining) | Session 2 score determines Havaldar shortlisting |
| PET | Walking: 1600m in 15 min (male); 1000m in 20 min (female); qualifying |
| PST | Height, chest, weight measurements; qualifying |
| DV | Document verification; mandatory |
For complete Havaldar PET standards, visit the SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria page.

The most common reason candidates miss the MTS cutoff is a low Session 2 GA score. GA requires 12 to 14 months of consistent current affairs coverage. Candidates who score 40-50 in GA while scoring 60+ in English miss the overall Session 2 cutoff. The remediation is GA preparation depth, not more English practice.

Because the February 2026 exam was conducted over 4 shifts daily for 17 days, the normalisation involved a large number of shifts. Some shifts in later exam phases were rated slightly harder than early phases, which means candidates in harder shifts may have received upward normalisation adjustments.
For the September to November 2026 exam, the same normalisation logic applies. Candidates should not be discouraged if their raw score seems close to the cutoff. The normalised score (shown on the scorecard) is what actually matters.
When will the SSC MTS 2025-26 result be declared? The CBE result for the exam conducted February 4-20, 2026 is expected in April to June 2026. The provisional answer key was released March 3, 2026, and the objection window closed March 6, 2026.
Is Session 1 score counted in the result? No. The final merit list and selection are based entirely on Session 2 normalised marks (out of 150). Session 1 is qualifying only.
How are SSC MTS cutoffs released? SSC MTS cut-off is released State/UT-wise, category-wise, age-group-wise, and post-wise. There is no single national cutoff. Check the cutoff for your specific state, category, and age group.
When will the SSC MTS 2026-27 cycle result be declared? The 2026-27 cycle exam is scheduled for September to November 2026. Based on the 2 to 4 month result turnaround pattern, the result is expected in January to March 2027.
What happens if I qualify CBE for Havaldar but fail PET? If you fail PET, you are disqualified for the Havaldar post. If you also applied for MTS posts and your CBE score qualifies for MTS shortlisting separately, you may still be considered for MTS posts depending on the state-wise merit list.
