The CUET UG result is not just a score declaration. It is the starting point of India's most complex undergraduate admission process, where over 13 lakh candidates compete for seats across 300+ universities using the same score. Understanding what the CUET scorecard shows, how raw scores translate to admission eligibility at specific universities, and what to do in the critical 2 to 4 weeks between result declaration and university counselling deadlines determines whether preparation converts into a confirmed university seat.
CUET UG 2026 is being conducted from May 11 to May 31, 2026. The result is expected in July 2026, approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the last exam date. Unlike NEET or JEE Main, CUET does not have a centralised counselling process. Each university independently releases its cutoff and conducts its own admission rounds using CUET scores.
This page covers: the expected result date for CUET UG 2026, step-by-step scorecard download process, field-by-field scorecard explanation, official CUET 2025 result data, raw score vs normalisation history, answer key challenge process, the complete post-result action plan, and university-wise admission processes for DU, BHU, JNU, JMI, and AMU.
Live Update: The CUET UG 2026 result and scorecard download link will be posted here immediately upon official declaration by NTA at cuet.nta.nic.in. Expected: July 2026.

Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of applicants in CUET UG 2025 with 3,47,736 students registering and 2,96,858 appearing. This reflects UP's role as the largest contributor to CUET aspirant pool.
The scorecard is available exclusively at cuet.nta.nic.in after official result declaration. A parallel portal cuet.samarth.ac.in may also be active.

| Raw Score | Marks scored in each subject (out of 250) | Primary criterion for university cutoffs since 2024 |

| Rank (if applicable) | Position among candidates in that subject | Some universities display subject-wise rank |
Pre-2024 CUET: CUET was conducted across multiple dates and shifts per subject. To account for difficulty variation, NTA applied normalisation, converting raw marks to normalised scores. Cutoffs were based on normalised scores, not raw marks.
CUET 2024, 2025, and 2026: The normalisation process was discontinued. While in 2024, the normalisation process was discontinued, in previous years, CUET marks and percentile scores were different. Now, the raw marks you score directly determine your position in university merit lists. A raw score of 220 out of 250 is exactly 220 out of 250 in the merit list calculation.
This change makes raw score maximisation directly relevant. Every additional correct answer adds exactly +5 to your cutoff-determining score with no normalisation rounding.
Before the final result, NTA releases a provisional answer key. Candidates can challenge answers they believe are incorrect.
| Step Details | |
| Provisional answer key release | Approximately 10 to 14 days after exam completion |
| Candidate response sheet | Released simultaneously; shows which option you selected |
| Challenge window | 2 to 3 days after provisional key release |
| Challenge fee | Rs. 200 per question (non-refundable if challenge rejected) |
| How to challenge | Log in at cuet.nta.nic.in; select the question; provide reason; upload supporting material (NCERT page or other reference) |
| Expert review | Panel reviews valid challenges with supporting NCERT evidence |
| Final answer key | Released with result; incorporates accepted challenges |
| Fee refund | Refunded for accepted challenges |
When to challenge: Challenge only if you have a clear, evidence-backed reason. For CUET domain subjects (NCERT-based), the strongest challenges cite the specific NCERT page, paragraph, or table contradicting the provisional answer. Vague objections are rejected.
A successful challenge adds 5 marks for every candidate who attempted that question, not just the challenger. At scores near DU cutoffs where 5 marks can move a candidate up or down a college tier, this can be consequential.
CUET counselling is not conducted in a centralised manner. Each participating university releases its CUET counselling form on its official website. Based on CUET score, candidates must register for counselling on the university's official website and enter their course and college preferences. Generally, there are approximately three rounds of counselling.
DU conducts admissions through its Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) at du.ac.in. After CUET results:
Documents for DU CSAS:
BHU releases admissions on its official portal bhuonline.in after CUET results. BHU typically conducts 4 rounds of counselling. Registration on BHU portal required separately from CUET registration.
JNU admissions for UG integrated programmes through CUET are processed via jnu.ac.in. JNU's seat allocation for CUET-based UG programmes follows merit lists released on the JNU portal.
JMI releases admissions through its portal jmi.ac.in. Separate online application required for JMI counselling using CUET scores.
AMU processes CUET-based admissions through amucontrollerexams.com. AMU may conduct additional tests for specific programmes even for CUET-qualified candidates.
